Dr. Stefano Ferrari Stefano Ferrari, MD, was born in Bologna, Italy on August 19, 1955. He received his medical degree summa cum laude from the University of Bologna in 1980. This was followed by a fellowship at the Institute for Medical Pathology at the University of Bologna and board certification in Internal Medicine with honours in 1985. In 1988, Dr Ferrari joined the Istituto Ortopedico Rizzoli in Bologna, Italy. Since 2005 he has served as the Head of the Division of Chemotherapy for Musculoskeletal Tumors at the Istituto Ortopedico Rizzoli. Dr. Ferrari has a lifetime of professional dedication to patient care and clinical research in bone and soft tissue sarcomas. His research on bone sarcomas presently focuses on prognostic and predictive factors of survival in osteosarcoma and Ewing’s sarcoma in order to identify a personalized strategy of treatment in these rare diseases. Dr. Ferrari is an active member of several national and international scientific societies. He is Chairman of the Bone Sarcoma Committee of the Italian Sarcoma Group, Vice President of the European Musculo-Skeletal Oncology Society, a member of the board of the sarcoma faculty of the European Society of Medical Oncology, and a board member of the Connective Tissue Oncology Society.
