Richard Gorlick, MD

Dr. Richard GorlickDr. Gorlick is Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Molecular Pharmacology, Division Chief, Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, and Vice Chairman, Department of Pediatrics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine – The Children’s Hospital at Montefiore, in the Bronx, New York. He is also Director of the Sarcoma Research Laboratory and a member of the Albert Einstein Cancer Center at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He earned his medical degree at State University of New York Health Science Center in Brooklyn, New York, and served his residency in Pediatrics at Babies Hospital of the Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York, New York.

Dr. Gorlick is an active member of the Children’s Oncology Group (COG) and has served as chairman of the Young Investigator Committee and currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Bone Sarcoma Disease Committee and chairman of the Biology Section–Bone Sarcoma Disease Committee and as a member of the Developmental Therapeutics Liaison committee. He is Co-chair of the Osteosarcoma Biology Protocol-Companion to Therapeutic Studies and Director of the Bone Tumor Resource Laboratory. Dr. Gorlick is an active member of the Pediatric Preclinical Testing Program (PPTP) and is responsible for the testing performed in osteosarcoma models. Dr. Gorlick is also an active member of the Sarcoma Alliance for Research through Collaboration (SARC) consortium preclinical testing group.

Dr. Gorlick has published more than 80 peer-reviewed articles in leading medical journals, including The New England Journal of Medicine, Cancer Research, Nature Medicine, Blood, and the Journal of Clinical Oncology. He is a frequent invited lecturer in bone tumors at major medical meetings throughout the United States and Europe.
