Molecular Biology and Sarcomas
Dr. Dina Lev: The only way to make any advances in the management of patients with sarcoma is to understand the molecular biology of these tumors. And as I said previously, there are very heterogenous, so we can't study them and lump them all together. The way we should investigate sarcoma is by investigating each entity on its own. Once we do that and if we focus our studies on any one of the subtypes of sarcomas, we can eventually get to significant understanding of the processes that drive the intiation of these tumors and, furthermore, their progression. And hopefully by doing that we can also identify good targets for therapy.
