Ole Steen Nielsen, MD, DMSci
His research interests focus on clinical and basic research in sarcomas, the biology and treatment of bone metastasis as well as treatment of gynaecologic and gastrointestinal tumours. Dr Nielsen received his M.D. degree from the University of Aarhus in Denmark in 1980. Same year he received a gold medal for a thesis on Radiotherapy. In 1984 he defended his science thesis and was appointed doctor of Medicine Science at the University of Aarhus. In 1990 he received his specialist degree in Clinical Oncology. In 1990-91 he was clinical fellow at the University of Toronto and Princess Margaret Hospital. From 1995 he has been the Head of the Cancer Centre at University Hospital of Aarhus. Dr. Nielsen joined the Liddy Shriver Sarcoma Initiative's Medical Advisory and Editorial Board in February 2006.
