A Review of Neoadjuvant Chemoradiation Strategies in the Treatment of Extremity Soft Tissue Sarcomas

Drs. Perlewirz and Ryan suggest that in addition to early treatment of micro-metastatic disease, pre-operative chemotherapy may act as a radiation-sensitizing agent to decrease the chance of local recurrence.

CD99 Engagement and Apoptosis in Ewing’s Sarcoma: The Role of Mitochondria and Mitochondrial DNA Mutations

In this study plan, Drs. Rugolo and Scotlandi discuss their approach to investigating the molecular pathways triggered by the anti-CD99 0662 antibody leading to cell death, in particular the involvement of mitochondria and to sequencing the whole mitochondrial genome to reveal the presence of mutations in EWS cells and tumors.

The Effect of Mir-17-92 Dysregulation In Leiomyosarcoma-Genesis

In this study plan, Dr. Hernando discusses her approach to develop a better understanding of the molecular basis of LMS, providing the first in vivo functional evidence of altered miRNAs that contribute to LMS and reveal potential new therapeutic targets for LMS treatment.
